Young forever

Hey peeps,

it's been a slow month at the blog and I've really started not to care. Since I put up the counter there have been 456 visitors which means around 7,6 per day.

Tomorrow I'm going to Brussels and since it is so cold in Europe right now it's colder there than here. It's a five day excursion but we'll only have classes for two day. Interpretation ... get drunk at least 3 times. I'm going to buy a digital camera on the duty free zone so you'll get pictures if I won't loose it while drunk.

These days it's all about my thesis and applying for jobs since I'll graduate in the summer. I'm applying to work at this computer company that saves lives!!! They try to correct mistakes in medication and they are really doing a good job. But they don't dare to go to the States because they are afraid to get in law suits if something happens.

I went to this great party at a friends house last weekend and found out that a boyfriend of one of my friends (who's a girl). His sister is one of the finalist in the local Idol, then she came partying with us and she's really nice... maybe she was just hunting votes:D Hanging out with the cellebs. Nothing compared to Svana and that Robbie fella' though.

Today I was suppose to have three students but two didn't show up. Guess is showed how good a teacher I am. Anyways I'm earning well with this and it comes easy to me. I'm actually thinking about applying as a TA next semester.

Well this has become long as usual.

later,
Úlli

p.s.
I'll drink a beer for each one of you in Brussel (I would anyway but...) and it's at least half the price here.

p.p.s.
I challenge Svana to write a blog the next time she's in here. I want to hear what's going on. Svana what's going on?

Another day, another dynasty

Well, work is the same ol' same ol' for the most part, but it does have its highlights. When we get a really cool, famous client things get a bit more interesting. We were doing several returns the other day for a family of Romanoffs, and we thought that with their money and the schools they were attending that something was up. After a bit of research it turns out that they are the Romanovs of Russian dynastic fame. The returns were for the great-grandchildren of Russia's last czar, overthrown by the Bolsheviks. Perhaps the Prince and Princess before their names should've given it away. After fleeing Russia they emigrated to Chicago where they lived for many years and married into Chicago's most prominent families, including the Armours (known for making Chicago's most famous hot dogs). The kids now live in East Sussex, England, but they still have their trusts at a Chicago bank. I was in shock looking at the spending habits and costs incurred by these kids, who are in fact royalty.

Weather's cold and snowing right now, but that never stopped me from going out. Got absolutely langered last night, slept 3 hours then had to work for 8 hours and drive 2 1/2 hours to uni. I'm now fully recovered and ready to do it all again. Barcelona (and Adam) truly trained me to go on the lash for extended periods.

Hope all is well wherever you may be. Oh, read Vegard's suggested reading, "The Shadow of the Wind/La Sombra del Viento," by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, and I highly recommend it. I burnt through it in a couple days. I think it's been translated into quite a few languages, so check it out.

Peace,
Tim

Grrreat week

Hey,

It has somehow felt like a great week, that is the one that is passing. Last time I blogged I didn't have much to say and it was a bigger reason that I hadn't done it for a while than I had actually something to say. The good news aren't really coming through but I had a job interview in the bank I'm currently working in about getting a better job. I talked to the top two in HR (who actually have hired me for the past 5 summers... in two banks) and I got a really good feeling about getting a good job. I'm hoping I can get in the marketing department but the only thing they could say was we'll keep you in mind. I don't know why I'm getting my hopes up but I am.

The other thing I'm happy about is that last semester I got a 9 in Statistic and this week I was offered to teach private lessons in the same subject. I already have 3 students, I teach two ladies twice a week and get 80 dollars a week. If the other one comes through I'll be teaching her at least once a week getting 25 dollars. The price is 25 dollar for the first person and 15 dollars for each after that. Not only is this great financially but also something I really like trying.

In about an hour I'm going to an excursion at MasterCard and there are two other schools going so hopefully I'll meet some nice girl over there.

Later,
Úlli

A few jokes

1.
Why is American beer served cold?

To differentiate it from urine

2.
The CEO's of the biggest breweries around the world all had a meeting in Amsterdam. At noon they all took a brake and went to the nearest restaurant. When it came to ordering drinks they all ordered their own production. The manager of Miller ordered Miller light, the one of Heineken chose Heinken. But when the waitor came to Arthur Guinness of Guiness, Arthur said "I´ll have a coke". The waiter stumbled and said "but sir why don't you get a Guiness, we have it". Arthur replied "Since none of the others are having beer I won't either".

3.
A chicken crossed the road and met James Bond.
What´s your name? asked the chicken
Bond, James Bond. What´s yours?
Ken, Chick Ken

Sick, tired and homeless

Hey,

So you haven't any of my long blogs for quite a while a have a few excuses but not enough. The first is that for the first two weeks of this year I was sick which was terrible got a pulmonia (I think it's called) the second week and something else the other.

I came a week late to school because of this, I have 4 courses but I only need two to graduate so I think I'll quit one... I just don't know which one. In the course Iceland and the European Union we are going to Brussels for 6 days which will be great. The next course I showed up for was American politics and business environment where there is a week long trip to Washington and NYC. I signed up for both and I was really looking forward to this especially meeting Roadrunner and Walker in NYC but I think that one will be cancel since there isn't much interest.

In late may I have my graduation trip to Thailand which will be great and two days after I come back it's graduation. I haven't really started thinking that far because I'm writing my thesis and me and my friends are thinking about renting a summer house to isolate us and write (each in our corner...with beer:). The thesis is nothing about the banks y'all are working for but problems that managers that go abroad have. Basically it's about culture shock.

There are propably a lot of things to talk about but I can't remember.

One thing I was thinking about in the car just before I came home. I think I'll go to NYC sometime this year (maybe to apply for a job) and there are a few of us over there already. Last but not the least the city is rather central (funny to say that about a place that is on another continent). What do you think about a reunion? I think it's a stupid idea but I wanted to throw it out there.

I made Walker administrator to this site so now he can change everything.

There is a test tomorrow in Iceland and European Union so I see you later just wanted to end this with a comment from Madeleine Albright.

To understand Europe you have to be genius... or French

Europe=European Union

Kveðja,
Úlli

Slave Labour in the Chi-Tizzle

Well, no time to blog much as I've got to get back to my slave labor, but I just wanted to inform everyone that Walker ventured west to Chicago last weekend and we met up and had a blast. After an amazing dinner at a Brazilian churrascaria (and an even more amazing bill!!!), we went to an Irish pub (again, I had nothing to do with this decision) and had a good time catching up. I met Walker's impressive current and prospective business partners, and the Walkie Talk has amazed me with his entrepreneurial spirit. More cajones than me, my friend. I also informed him that Bea was in NYC, so they should be getting into some debauchery soon. Gotta get back to me tax work...take care all.
